Possibly the best server for IL2 Great Battles series, currently. Game play incorporates all aspects of the IL2 GB. From intense dogfights, tank battles, deep bombing raids, FVP supports it all. Each campaign is dynamic, thus allowing each side to concentrate on what is important to winning the conflict. As with most dynamic campaigns, it's all about objectives won or lost. In addition to the fast paced action of dogf-ighting, FVP offers advanced play for armored fighting vehicles. Also included in FVP is the option to use AAA trucks to support the AFV & airfields. When used with supporting aircraft, these ground units can drastically alter the out come of many battles. One of FVPs most appealing features is the rotating planesets. Planesets rotate on a time basis, so players can experiment with different planes from different time frames within WW2.

As you can see, not all targets are of equal value. These values help move the map for victor. It should be understood that dog-fighting does little to help the team win. Destroying high value targets will win the war.

Combat Box was one of the first online servers for Il2 GB series to use advanced scripting to promote a greater sense of immersion. Very well scripted, with a great feeling of reenacting the ferocious air battles over Europe. In terms of excitement, Combat Box caters more to those who enjoy dog-fighting above all else. That is not to say ground attack oriented pilots won't enjoy CB because there are usually a large number of well defended targets to attack. 

CB doesn't include any aspect of Tank Crew, which is unfortunate. Additionally, CB is not a dynamic type of server in terms of how missions rotate or change. Each mission is well crafted, but lacks the strategic aspect of dynamic campaigns. However, for fun of dog-fighting & aerial ground pounding, CB is a great server to join and face some top notch, skillful pilots. Players in general are well versed in history and are helpful to beginner pilots.

In addition to the very well scripted missions that Combat Box runs nightly, CB offers special events. These events typically take place each Friday. Friday Night Fights gathers together a larger than normal amount of pilots to participate in one or more designated missions. These missions are typically very well received and provide great entertainment for one and all.
